I would add more trees. Global warming has many causes, and people agree or disagree when you talk about the role of fossil fuels or emissions. But a major factor in local heating that we can all see for ourselves is a lack of shade on parking lots.

Even small cities become heat domes because the sun is hitting this black asphalt all day. If we could develop paving material that works as a solar panel, that would make it useful, but it would still get just as hot. When there's no shade it makes cars hotter on the inside too.

Large trees also make a neighborhood look attended to and reduce crime. We would work with horticulturists, cities, and businesses to make sure the right trees are planted in each area and improve shade cover in the country as much as possible.
