Quarter 2, 11/6/2025: One year and one day ago, JD Vance was elected to the Vice Presidency. A man who would look in your face and tell you that your neighbors are eating stolen pets was one breath away from power, one breath by a guy who already has morticians painting him. One year ago today, each of us woke up with the responsibility to lead this country.
I took that responsibility too literally and registered to run for president. I did that to encourage people to fight back, to get momentum going immediately. At first, the new administration moved fast, and it seemed like Democrats wouldn't be able to respond. But they have. States have fought back, the courts have fought back, and they're winning. Trump's people wanted shock and awe, and they didn't get to have that.
I also did it because lying like that demands a response. It demands everybody standing up to it for their own sake, because as people, we don't accept that. It's the type of lying that fields of science were invented to study after World War II.
JD, meanwhile, hasn't learned a thing. He repeated that dog and cat shit last week. Maybe it only seems worse than when Trump does it because he's supposed to be a lawyer, or because he knows better. Maybe it's because he clearly enjoys lying that way, and he decided to join in after comparing these people to Hitler, whereas Trump might come across as more materially self-interested.
I'm watching Democratic candidates emerge, and some are very strong. What I'm most interested to see is who runs against JD on the right.
