I would have students meet business owners in the community. I realize some schools probably have job fairs, but most don't, and that's not quite what I mean. I would have different types of employers come in and talk about what they're looking for and what they ask employees to do. I would have them talk about what happens to an application. That type of thing will help people get their first job and function once they're there. It'll also help them choose a school or know what certifications to get etc.

I would re-ban child labor though.

Harris proposed eliminating the four year degree requirement for many federal jobs and I support that. I would support eliminating that requirement for any job that doesn't specify what the degree is in.

I would also try and get states to bring their tipped minimums up to the regular minimum, I don't know if that can be done federally but I'd see about it.

I've said elsewhere that I would incentivize all businesses that can to encourage working from home. I classify it as a highway reform, but it also opens up the workforce to people who are otherwise excluded. It also mitigates childcare expenses for new parents, and would reduce their reliance on the paid family leave that I also support.
