I find it unbelievable the way they screw over the prison firefighters in California. This one is to you, Gavin Newsom. If elected, I would federally guarantee their pay and training, and pardon any felon who goes and fights wildfires for a season.

The program limits eligibility to people who are already at minimum custody status, so letting them rejoin society is not a problem after that. It's such serious work, they need to be paid and allowed to seek firefighting jobs later.
