One of the hardest things that businesses have to deal with right now is residential rent, which they are expected to cover for their employees.

When residential rents go up, it causes strikes, it causes homelessness outside the building, and crime goes up because people's jobs aren't covering their most basic expenses, so they look for other ways to make money and meet those demands from their landlords.

A business friendly environment is one where everybody has the means to live a clean and stable life and has a little spending money to circulate. And it has to come at a price that everyday employers can easily afford.
